Knitting and increasing brain power!!
I *was* and avid reader until Knitting entered my life and felt I was missnig something. CraftLit has brought together 2 loves! What a wonderful concept. I also enjoy the fact that Heather is a teacher. She gives wonderful insights to the literary world. I love the class feel of the podcast. Can't wait for our next book!!
Reading 'ritings, and knitting 'rithmatic!
I can't even sew a button on straight, but I enjoy other arts, so Heather's musings on craft and its importance keep me enthralled. Her enthusiasm with and commentary on the chosen literature gives these classics a liveliness and depth I wasn't able to see before. A great multi-dimensional podcast, always interesting!
A really Great idea!
What a wonderful idea it was to combine literature and crafts! It lived up to all my expectations. The introductions at the beginning really help set the tone for the chapters to come and the divergent stories about knitting are a nice break from the some-times heavy audio content. The author's comments about her personal life are just long enough to make you care about her, but not so long that you wish she'd move on. My favorite sections are definately the novels, but some of the short stories were alright. I would definately sign up for this one (I don't even knit)!
One of my favorite podcasts
I'm completely addicted to CraftLit. It's the first 'cast I click on when I update my iPod, and I find busywork until the episode is over. I love the background Heather gives on each author or story; she's inspired me to get into some older literature that I otherwise wouldn't have made time for or studied. Hearing about her crafting projects is fun too, but really? It's her voice. Smooth, calm, velvety, but with a sense of humor bubbling beneath the surface... I can listen for hours.
What kind of good, good thing is this?!
This is an excellent podcast: well-produced, interesting literary choices, reflective, entertaining and charmingly hosted by a velvety-voiced refreshingly adult Ms Ordover. (There is just so many shrieking, giggling dilettantes I can manage, thank you.) Right up there with Cast-On. I am absolutely addicted.
This Podcast Has it All !
Something for your mind, for your craft, and a little bit of a social conscience. Thanks Heather !
I love it when there's a new one...
...because I feel like I'm getting my brain taken care of along with my knitting fix. Her discussions before the book are fabulous, as well. Thank you for the great ideas and the little bit of excitement in my updates every week. :)
